Seattle Young Artist Music Festival

Seattle Young Artist Music Festival is March 25 through March 30, 2019 at the University of Washington Music Building.  The deadline to register is Wednesday, 1/16.  Please go to syamfa.org to do so.  Registration forms must be signed by me, so register right away!  🙂

Attached is the piece(s) your child will be performing, their running times and Sarah’s and my information.  Note that the fee for Sarah’s accompaniment services has recently been raised to $80 an hour.  Please email me with any questions.

Fall cello recital 2018!

Come join us for a beautiful student cello recital at Olympic View Community Church!  It will feature music by Bach, Elgar, Debussy and more!  Hope to see you there!

Student info:

  • Arrival time: 3:30
  • What to bring: cello, rockstop, sheet music (if needed)
  • Attire: button-down shirt or nice polo and slacks for boys / dress, skirt or blouse and dress pants for girls.  NO jeans, shorts or yoga pants.
  • Attendance policy: Group 1 students may leave at intermission but not before.  Group 2 students must remain for the entire recital.  No exceptions.

Fall concert at the Dunn Gardens!

Join us Sunday, 10/21 at 2:30-4:00 at the beautiful Dunn Gardens for a cello concert as part of their Fall Foliage Festival!  We’ll be performing classical favorites from Beethoven and Vivaldi along with pop favorites by Pharrell, the White Stripes and more!  Arrive early at 1:00 to enjoy the many other activities of the festival, including a cake walk, apple cider making, pumpkin bowling and more.  Hope to see you there!

Student info

  • Arrive at 2:00PM
  • Performance at 2:30-3:30; Cello Phil only at 3:45-4:00.
  • Where: Dunn Gardens
  • Attire: something nice, but dress warmly in layers
  • What students should bring: cello, stand, music and busking folder, clothespins, rockstop, cello stools (they will have full-size chairs for older students)

Summer Jam @ Ballard Farmer’s Market!

Join us Sunday, 8/5 at 10:00-noon at the Ballard Farmer’s Market for an awesome cello concert!  We’ll be performing classical favorites from Beethoven and Pachelbel along with selections from Moana, Harry Potter and more!  Look for us at Bergen Place Park on the corner of Market Street and 22nd Ave NW.  Hope to see you there!!

Summer Schedule 2018

Attached is the Summer Schedule 2018. Please read the clarifications, below and email with any questions or changes you need to make!

  • If you have not signed up yet, do not fret – there is plenty of availability.  🙂
  • Cello X members, there will be summer happenings – stay tuned.
  • Please note lesson dates & times carefully as missed lessons will not be made up.  Contact me with any changes you need to make.
  • Tuition for July is due on July 12th and tuition for August is due on August 9th.  Summer rates are on my homepage.
  • I increased lesson times for some of you due to camp preparation needs and higher levels.  If you prefer a shorter lesson, no problem – I will reduce the time.
  • Let me know if you can do the Recital at the Dunn Gardens.  I noted who responded, but there’s plenty of space – I hope that most can participate!
