Summer Schedule 2019

Here is the Summer Schedule 2019.  Please read the clarifications, below and email with any questions or changes you need to make!

  • There is plenty of availability if you haven’t signed up yet.  See the Summer Schedule 2019 and choose from the highlighted times in yellow.
  • Please carefully note your lesson times – missed lessons will not be made up.
  • July tuition is due on your first lesson in July.  August tuition is due on your first lesson of August.  Summer rates are on my homepage.
  • I increased lesson times for some of you.  If you prefer a shorter lesson, no problem – I will reduce the time.
  • Summer Jam #1 is on 7/26 @ 5:00-7:00 with a rehearsal on 7/25 @ 4:00-6:00.  Summer Jam #2 is on 8/2 @ 5:00-7:00 with a rehearsal on 8/1 @ 4:00-6:00.  The Phinney Ridge Farmer’s Market can fit a maximum of six students, so please email me to sign up.  Rehearsals will be at my house.
  • Cello X members, our performance is at the Crossroads Mall in Bellevue on July 20th at 6:30-8:30 as part of Northwest Folklife’s Crossroads Cultural Arts Series.  More info to come, such as the rehearsal date, etc.  There may be other gigs – stay tuned.

Spring Jam 2019!

Join us this Thursday, 6/13 at 5:00-7:00 at the Queen Anne Farmer’s Market for an awesome cello concert!  We’ll be performing classical favorites from Beethoven and Pachelbel along with selections from Hamilton, Moana, Harry Potter and more!  Look for us at the performer’s area on the lawn, and don’t forget to sample the many wonderful eats from the Market!  See you there!!

Student info

  • Arrive at 4:15
  • Group 1 & Cello Phil performs at 5:00-5:45; Cello Phil only, 6:00-7:00
  • Where: Queen Anne Farmer’s Market under the performer’s tent (grass hill)
  • What students should bring: cello, stand, busking folder, clothespins, rockstop, chair or stool, sitting blanket (optional)

Cellopalooza and CelloFest 2019!

Below are details for Cellopalooza and CelloFest!  See you Sunday!!

Cellopalooza!

  • When: Sunday, 5/19, 2:00-4:00 (1:15 arrival for students)
  • Where: Greenlake United Methodist Church
  • What students should bring: Cello, stool (the church has full-size chairs) Cello Phil music, rockstop.
  • Optional: frisbees, balls, blankets
  • Attire for students: something nice

CelloFest!

  • When: Directly following Cellopalooza (approx 4:30)
  • Where: Greenlake Play Field
  • What to bring: Money for pizza, ($5/person).  Please contact me if you want pizza and for how many so I know how much to order.
  • Optional: frisbees, balls, blankets, outdoor clothes, sunscreen
  • Note: In case of bad weather, we will meet at Zoe Yogurt instead.

 

 

Cello X performs on King 5! Info

Don’t miss Cello X as we perform on King 5’s New Day Northwest on Tuesday, April 30th at 11:00AM!  We’re super honored to be featured on Western Washington’s only local talk show featuring all things Northwest. Catch it later on their website if you can’t watch live!  More about their program here.

Studio address and arrival procedures

  • Address: 9750 4th Ave NW, #A.   I live across the street from the QFC on Holman Road.
  • Parking: street parking is available.
  • Arrival procedures:
    • Enter without knocking.
    • Remove shoes and leave music by the door.
    • Go upstairs with your cello and unpack.
    • Please wait in the living room until I call.
    • Use caution going up and down stairs with your cello.  Parents of younger students, please assist.
  • Group lesson location: Amazing Grace Spiritual Center in Ballard.

Spring Cello Recital!

Join us for a beautiful student cello recital at Olympic View Community Church!  It will feature music by Brahms, Elgar, Debussy, Faure and more!  Hope to see you there!

Student info:

  • Arrival time: 3:30
  • What to bring: cello, rockstop, sheet music (if needed)
  • Attire: button-down shirt or nice polo and slacks for boys / dress, skirt or blouse and dress pants for girls.  NO blue jeans (black jeans ok), shorts, yoga pants.
  • Attendance policy: Group 1 students may leave at intermission but not before.  Group 2 students must remain for the entire recital.  No exceptions.

Seattle Young Artist Music Festival

Seattle Young Artist Music Festival is March 25 through March 30, 2019 at the University of Washington Music Building.  The deadline to register is Wednesday, 1/16.  Please go to syamfa.org to do so.  Registration forms must be signed by me, so register right away!  🙂

Attached is the piece(s) your child will be performing, their running times and Sarah’s and my information.  Note that the fee for Sarah’s accompaniment services has recently been raised to $80 an hour.  Please email me with any questions.
